The L6599 is a power management IC, a two-terminal controller for resonant half-bridge topology, high voltage resonant controller. It provides a 50% complementary duty cycle, and the high-side switch and low-side switch are driven ON\OFF 180° out of phase at exactly the same time. Output voltage regulation is obtained by modulating the operating frequency. A fixed dead time is inserted between the turn-off of one switch and the turn-on of the other switch to ensure soft switching and enable high-frequency operation. The IC uses a high-voltage floating structure capable of withstanding over 600V and a high-voltage DMOS drove synchronously to replace an external fast-recovery bootstrap diode.
