Honeywell's PTM7950 is a high thermal conductivity phase change material (PCM) in the 7900 series, available in both pad and phase change sheet forms, designed to reduce the thermal resistance of the interface, pass reliability tests and maintain excellent performance. Based on a novel polymeric PCM system, this material exhibits good interfacial wettability over a typical operating temperature range, resulting in meager surface contact resistance. It is more suitable for today's high-performance notebook computers and CPU/GPU cores.

How PTM7950 phase change pads work:

1) At room temperature, the thermally conductive phase change material remains solid and cannot discharge the air in the interface;

2) As the temperature rises, the phase-change thermal conductivity material becomes softer and softer, the air at the interface begins to be discharged, and the temperature begins to drop;

3) When the phase-change heat-conducting material reaches the phase-change temperature, the phase-change heat-conducting material becomes liquid and can greatly wet the interface, exhaust the air in the interface, reduce the interface thermal resistance, and transmit heat as much as possible; In the working state, the phase change thermal conductive material becomes solid again but keeps 100% of the interface completely wet.


How to use ptm7950 phase change silicone pad:

1) Thoroughly clean the chip's surface and the heat sink's contact surface. It is recommended to use the alcohol wipe provided as a gift.

2) If the surface of the chip is to be attached, it must be cut to the same size as the chip or even slightly smaller by one side. The edge is solid and not suspended so that the film can be removed. If it is attached to the base of the heat sink, it is recommended to be a circle larger than the chip so that it is easy to aim and does not cover the uneven protrusions, and the film can be torn off on a flat surface! But no matter which surface it is attached to, the edge cannot be suspended, the next step is easy to operate. Irregular edges and hanging in the air will lead to poor tearing of the film;

3) Tear off the release film on one side and paste it on the base of the heat sink or the surface of the chip (do not repeatedly knead the phase change film before use, if the room temperature is too high, you can put it in the refrigerator for ten minutes, it is easier to tear the film after cooling);

4) Then use your thumb to apply pressure evenly on the entire surface of the phase change sheet, so that the phase change sheet can be fully pasted, so that the film can be torn off in the next step;

5) Tear off the other half of the release film; it is more convenient to use the free easy-to-tear stickers; you can start from the corner, which is more convenient;

6) Directly install and fasten the radiator normally, and then turn it on and use it immediately.
